As you look throughout all the steelhead streamers offered today, you'll see Guinea in well over half of them. It's really become a staple for steelhead tiers. We most often use Guinea for the collars on our flies because the feathers are really stiff, offering protection of the profile for the whole fly. You can also see them used throughout the body of the fly, as in the popular Hoh Bo Spey fly from Charles St. Pierre.
