Sage 509 Reel + Spool - Used

The classic Sage 509 is a vintage, highly collectible fly reel commissioned by Sage in the 1990s and built in England by Hardy. Closely based on the Hardy JLH and St. John lines, it features a highly reliable click-and-pawl drag and a built-in palming rim. 

The Hardy made spey reels are a collectors piece as much as they are a functional reel. The classy bronze color matches most spey rods perfect making a nice blend of style and functionality.

From AFS: Used but in great shape! We absolutely love these reels. Reel and spool are in great shape for their vintage with only minor cosmetic wear. The only thing to note is that the center frame side of the reel does not have the original rubber cap that covers the spindle nut of the reel. These are fairly easy to fashion. Not a major issue and does not affect the reel functionally. Neither spool or reel have a pouch.
