Rogue On The Fly 2016 Photo Gallery

Thanks to all who attended, presented, and to all of our vendors who made Rogue on the Fly happen this year! Saturday was a busy day at Indian Mary park that was filled with 10 on the water presentations, our Rogue on the Fly games, live music from The Feral Groove, and lots of fun in between.

Doug Brutocao from Aquaflies brought a slew of awesome flies to display. Along with Doug was Jerry French, who gave a stellar presentation about using two-hand techniques with single-hand and shorter two-handed rods.

Eric Neufeld set up load of Winston and Echo rods to demo, and introduced us the new Airflo Scout line, which he featured during his presentation on specialty Spey lines.

Joe Amend wandered the park all weekend and got voted “best of show”. Joe brought his Ross and Abel reels and Howler Bros apparel to show off. Not all who wander are lost, so it goes.

Bruce Berry from Beulah Rods and Hatch reels kept us entertained with his fine fly fishing personality impressions and campfire antics. Indian Mary Park is now re-writing their camp curfew guidelines.

Cole Cook and Alex from Sage, Redington and RIO showed off the new Sage X rods series and had an arsenal of rods to test out on the water. Cole’s first words were “let’s get to gettin’ boys”. We’ve heard that somewhere before.

Garry Sandstrom from Burkheimer Rods and Scientific Anglers was present with an impression quiver of Burky’s. He was kind enough to loan us one for the Steve Rowe Memorial Cigar Casting Competition.

Jacob Zirkle commanded the G-Loomis booth with the new Asquith rod series. His presentation “Baby Spey 101” was a hit.

Gino Bernero was our lead-off hitter with first ever six-hour presentation. Actually it was just shy of an hour. Gino does everything big. Who’s going to argue with the big fella?

PNW Nets had a major display of the finest wood fishing nets made. Ryan and Bill Bittle of PNW don’t mess around.

Bruce Skinner of Patagonia had all the insulation, layering, and outerwear required to survive the rain storms that blessed us over the weekend.

Charles Gehr manned the clave godfather Anderson Custom Rod booth with style as usual. 

A special thanks to Keith Liddy for cooking lunch and running our sound system. Bryan Niethstrath and company were also on lunch duty and rocked it. Thank you George Cook of Sage Rods and Eric Neufeld of Echo for providing lunch Saturday and Sunday. The Feral Groove rocked us Saturday night while chowing down food from the Fired Up Food Truck and that was a killer combination. Thanks to Summit Beverage for the keg of fine beer. Thanks to Southern Oregon Fly Fishers and Rogue Fly Fishers for coffee and sweets each morning! And thanks Dylan Rose for taking so many great photos of our event! I am sure there’s someone we are forgetting!

Through our raffle, we raised money for our three conservation groups, The Native Fish Society, Water Watch, and Rogue River Keeper. Thanks to all who bought raffle tickets and made that possible, and to our vendors who donated to the cause.

Congratulations to Dylan Rose and Kellen Igou for successfully defending their titles in the Bobber Lobber and Cigar Casting Competitions. You guys both hucked mega!
