I can’t recommend these classes enough if you are looking to take your tying to the next level. Jack has been teaching these popular tying classes for years in the Rogue valley. Jack is an Umpqua Feather Merchants Signature tyer for the reason that his flies are very effective. Jack has a very high number of returning students because he seems to always have a new take on a pattern and new ideas each year. Well worth it!

Cost: Classes are $50 each

Time: Classes begin at 10:00 am and go till around 4 - 5

What to bring:

Jack includes in the cost of each class, all the necessary hooks and materials, except thread, for patterns tied. He also will provide a complete recipe list and picture for each pattern. Jack and the shop will work with participants if they wish to buy additional materials.

*All participants will receive a materials list prior to each class*.

Participants must bring their own fly tying tools and thread.

Please also note Jack’s classes are for intermediate to advanced tyers as they cover many patterns in a day. Thank you!

So happy to say we have stumbled on one of the best custom fly tiers I have met since opening the shop, Scott Underwood from Northern California! He has been tying several unique patterns for our customers lately as well as some hard to find patterns for destinations like Bolivia & Argentina.
